Strata
DEMO - Currently in development
Grab your rusty nail (it is a sword, honestly, just a very small one) and drop into a cavern platformer about dashing, slashing, digging, building, and eventually picking a fight with royalty.
What you'll be doing
Moving like you mean it.
Double jump, dash, wall-friendly ledges, swim, climb stairs, drop through floors. The hero is quick and the caves are made for showing off.
Slashing with style.
Every slash chains. String three together for a cleave that sends enemies flying, dash into a thrust, slash upward into a rising cut, or dive from the air and slam the floor on both sides. Hit something from above and you bounce. It feels great.
Reading your enemies.
Nothing here hurts you by touch. Every monster winds up, telegraphs, swings, then stands there wide open. Crawlers bite, moths dive, spitters spit, wardens slam, little frogs hop and lick. Learn the rhythm and the cave becomes a dance floor.
Gathering and crafting.
Chop trees, crack boulders, pick berries, pull fibre and twist rope. Craft by hand or at a workbench. Make tools, weapons, hats, cloaks, furniture and building blocks. Wear a hat and it actually sits on your head.
Building.
Lay wood and stone blocks, walls, doors, torches, stairs, floors, chairs and tables, one cell at a time. Light up a dark corner. Build a cosy room in the meadow. Build a tower for no reason. The game notices when a room is properly closed in.
Exploring.
A pocket map that follows you and a full map when you need it. Resting benches to heal at. Locked doors that open when the room is clear. Hidden paths, a pond full of swaying seaweed, and a meadow under an open sky with hills, clouds and a treeline that rolls by as you run.
Chatting.
The princess and the blacksmith both have plenty to say, and the Frog King has opinions about you, especially if he has eaten you before.
Missions. A mission log keeps track of the main story and the side quests, with exactly what you still need to gather pinned right under the minimap.
